Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Oversee the Student Life Organization (SLO) – Manage and coordinate all activities within its departments to promote student engagement and leadership.
- Recruit and maintain the SLO team – Build a collaborative team that works effectively with different departments to ensure the successful execution of student activities.
- Motivate and inspire students – Encourage active participation in the SLO, aiming for continuous self-improvement and contribution to the school community.
- Proactively plan the academic year. Develop strategies based on school requirements and priorities to ensure the smooth execution of events and programs.
- Promote SLO achievements and events—Actively communicate and showcase the SLO’s accomplishments and activities throughout the academic year.
- Train student prefects – Provide training to develop their academic, managerial, and leadership skills, ensuring they can effectively fulfill their responsibilities.
- Collaborate with academic leaders – Work closely with the Academic Quality Controller(s) and Heads of Departments to enhance academic standards and support student success.
- Coordinate with the Student Management Coordinator (SMC) – Ensure the SLO plays a significant role in maintaining discipline and enhancing the overall school environment.
- Participate in school events and activities – Take an active role in leading and organizing school trips, competitions, and games, ensuring successful implementation through collaboration with relevant departments.
Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in the role of Student Life Coordinator, candidates will need:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of relevant experience, preferably within the SABIS® Network or a similar educational environment.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students and faculty alike.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals.
- Problem-solving skills to address challenges in student life and organizational dynamics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering collaboration among students, faculty, and administration.
- A commitment to continuous learning and improvement, contributing to the overall mission of providing high-quality education.
- Familiarity with educational tools and platforms that support student engagement and development initiatives.
